Methinks the Councilmember’s mind boggles easily: “Our ordinance has been in effect for years; the lawsuits and court decision were recent filings, forcing us to repeal the ordinance or be sued by a large and powerful entity. We can’t afford to fight; we must prepare our children to be aware.” Hey, that’s a fine idea! Prepare your children to be aware — knowledgeable, enlightened and well informed. Sounds like responsible parenting to me.
